Do you dream of a happy and fulfilling life? Can you imagine feeling happy with millions in bank account or a stretch of rumah sewa? Can you imagine having that great body and physique, feeling healthy and enthusiastic about your life ? And for some all the material things in the world ain’t matter – being able to do stuffs that they‘re passionate or deeply concerned about, gives them the utmost pleasure.

So many Unit Trust Consultants claimed that the ONE greatest setback in unit trust business is being MALU, TAKUT or FEAR and thus, resulting in LOW SELF-CONFIDENCE (they are so inter-related that I call them ONE). Ya ke ? We demo that some Group Agency Managers are shy too but have strong self confidence within them to succeed and maintain their performance. Believe me all this can be overcomed with one single attitude – DESIRE or KEMAHUAN. Thus, the Malay proverb “Kalau mahu, mesti ada jalan” (something like that). This issue is not unique to just unit trust business, it’s universal. So if you can conquer your MALU, FEAR and LOW SELF ESTEEM, they say the world is at your feet ! So, let’s try to help ourselves here…

The simplest thing to do is to have a JUST DO IT attitude. This single “UBAT KUAT” to overcome being shy, fearful and low self esteem is the most street-smart way – learning through experience. Remember to reserve room and space in your heart and always have a positive mind to constantly improve, improvise and be better and better every time you JUST DO IT.

The more textbook (theory and methodological way) is what follows next.

Step one is to realise the problem – sentiasa malu/fear or kadang-kadang (with certain people only or in unique situation), kenapa rasa begitu (lack knowledge, kurang cantik or handsome). Usually the reason is because “kita kekurangan sesuatu” – kurang wang, kurang cantik or handsome, kurang pelajaran dan ilmu, kurang pengalaman. Betul tak ?

Step two – the ACTION PLAN – the how and what to do.

Tanyalah kaum ibu, bagaimana membawa kandungan bayi selama 9 bulan.

Fenomena ini so common.

Beli make-up atau beli pampers ? Dilemma antara “yang perlu” vs “yang mahu”… and life goes on for the rest of 20 or 30 years in this manner.. sigh !

In other words, wanita sebegini, are “tough” and lebih “marketable” dan layak menjawat jawatan tinggi dan bergaji lumayan. The truth is, kaum bapa, not tested this manner but are usually assumed  ”more suitable” for higher post. Who’s to know ? Test tengok ?

Syukur… Selesai sudah sessi Goal Setting 2011 JUST-Caliph-HC…

Pada tanggal 8 Januari 2011, seramai 107 consultants renewed their vows, revived their semangat and start to chart their path for 2011 ! They chart their “roadmap to succeed” in unit trust business and made a promise to themselves that they deserve to DREAM BIG and have BOLD and BEAUTIFUL ambitions in life. That each of our family deserve a more fulfilling life, if we have the means and resources and know-how…

We started the day with energy boosting breakfast and a little dance routine to warm-up. Then “Cikgu” help us set our compass right – tanam niat yang betul. Our branch manager Mr Khoo started the first session with recognition of our unit trust consultants performance for year 2010. Congrats guys ! (download List of Top Producers and 2011 Promotion & NSC information here)

Then the navigation started with an inspiring Q&A session – sharing by Group Agency Managers Rodaini and Shaari. Sama segak dan hebat – contoh baik to us all, as to what the “picture of success” looks like. Guess what ? It’s achievable, believable and so touchable that all of us can succeed like Shaari and Rodaini with the right attitude, training, practice, motivation, discipline and perseverance.

Next, we updated ourselves with latest tax issues and computation – thanks to Puan Mimihiryani, tax consultant. In addition, we seek “pendapatan nan berkat” via zakat pendapatan. This cleansing of income session was conducted by Encik Fadhil & Encik Kamarul of Pusat Zakat Selangor (PPZS). Session was spiritually motivating and interesting ! (download Income Tax notes and Zakat notes here)

Lunch was equally rewarding ! Nasi tomato set gave us the extra ummph ! for the afternoon session. Any roadmap and action plan requires vitamin M, so we next look into our purses & wallets :-) . Business people start with how much to spend, then strategize how to earn the income. Unlike those under “makan gaji” they receive gaji first then plan how to spend. So spending sentiasa terhad by how much gaji they receive monthly.

Each of us must be “Out of masing-masing’s” comfort zone. When we’re uncomfortable, we work smarter, harder and push our capabilities further. With being uncomfortable – comes creativity and solutions to perform better. We constantly push our limits further – to be a “better person” and constantly outperform ourselves, and perhaps others.

We had a third Group Agency Manager – KK Chin who shared with us importance of setting goals, having them written down, making them visual and constantly reminding our senses (and mind) of what we aspire to achieve in life. KK Chin – one of the sort after GAMs in PMB shared unconditionally from the heart.

The rest of the Goals Setting Committee gave their all and unconditional support today. Well done and thank you – Jasma, Adam, Amir, Aishah, Zarina, Julianna, Shohaimay, Nazri, Raimy, Nubaila, Mai Farah, Hazah, Hasimah, Arif and myself for your generous contribution and time. Thank you AWESOME speakers and participants.

Oh wow ! You just gotta be here with us to experience it all. Next year perhaps ?

But meanwhile, contact us for preview or meet us at our weekly sessions. The JUST-Caliph-HC 2011 calendar (version 1.1) of activities can be downloaded here. Other relevant information -New Campaigns by PMB, New Promotion Quota, NSC Trip as illustrated by AM Farah can be downloaded here.

The Skies The Limit At The Crossroad Of Hopes And Dreams Stock Photo - 7530529

10 “perlu ada” … starting with a new car, a new house, a new wife or husband or bff… no ! no ! Bukan itu yang saya maksudkan. We just had our goal setting session last 8 January 2011 – a good start. As our speaker demonstrated “apa guna buat goal setting setiap tahun ?”. It serves as a ROADMAP – pelan or halatuju or kompas to guide us in our daily activities, agar tidak terpesong dari matlamat hidup sebenar.
The “10 must have” in 2011 is more attitude driven. Lessons to be learnt from Senator Datuk Seri Idris Jala – CEO of Pemandu.

1. Be focused on priorities

  • doing the difficult task first in the mornings
  • focus on our strength not weakness
  • doing retail sales (immediate income) whilst pursuing corporate deals
  • equip with sales & product knowledge to start doing unit trust business

The mantra here “major in major things, not major in minor stuffs”

2. Be radical in finding solutions

Kalau badan berat badan dah meningkat dan kita rasa tak selesa, spouse kita rasa kuranga senang, kawan-kawan pun asyik tengok “semacam” dan mungkin tiap kali shopping, perasaan frust dan stress bila duit ada tapi badan tak muat ! Kenalah ambil dose ubat yang drastic – puasa or go on a determined diet program, banyak bersenam – lari 5km sehari dan berhenti makan nasi selama 3 bulan. (I’m reminding myself here).

Similarly, kalau menghidap penyakit GHBbH (Gaji habis, bulan belum habis) dan setiap bulan mengeluh, bergaduh dengan suami or isteri – perlu cari jalan dan solution ketara and segera cari jalan keluar. Maksud saya “jalan penyelesaian keluar” – pendapatan sampingan atau potong perbelanjaan, Pilih mana yang patut.

3. Be collaborative

  • must have networking, boleh work as a team – that’s why our unit trust business is good as it has the team support and company support (unit trust company terulung di Malaysia) and product & services yang sangat diminati dan dicari-cari oleh ramai.
  • working alone, take more time to resolve masalah mungkin lambat dapat results.
  • being part of a great team – give us the synergy power & “lift” dan momentum. Some say “positive vibes”

4. Set goals

  • refer our goal setting session

5. Go public with roadmap

  • saya interprete as sharing your roadmap & goals with those close to you.
  • so that “their” roadmap is also in line (sehaluan) with yours (ours)

6. Build sustainable performance

  • must have a “reward system ” – the stick & carrot process to ensure sustainable performance. Thus, that’s why ramai yang bekerja, feel tak appreciated, tak dihargai dan gaji tak sepadan effort dan tanggungjawab yang diletakkan atas bahu mereka. Sometimes at home pun, ramai kaum ibu sering terasa tidak dihargai, walaupun bekerja sama berat dengan si suami, tambahan pula kerja rumah pun kena handle dan hal pelajaran anak juga sering dibebankan atas bahu ibu. Penat tuh !

7. It has to be a program, not a plan

This one I like VVVVVery much – ramai boleh cakap, boleh fikir & plan but very few can actually deliver (the doing part). in my unit trust business experience only 20% yang buat seperti yang dikota (kata). So, “must walk the talk” kata orang putih.

  • JUST Synergy Solutions ada sesi Coaching (training) setiap Sabtu pagi, ada sesi Brainstorming (meeting & motivasi) setiap Isnin pagi dan sesi recruitment (biz preview) setiap sabtu.
  • Sesi teh-tarik and morning coffe chat – usually one-to-one basis
  • Sesi Goal Setting setiap tahun dan review every 6 months (to remind goals set awal tahun)

8. Make it catalytic

The result of an action must deliver benefits beyond its own parameters. Wow ! Ini pun menarik. Apa-apa ynag berfaedah yang kita lakukan mesti ada “chain effect” dan multiplier (kuasa ganda) – it should transform the way we earn income, live and ultimately the way we “die”. Did we leave a legacy for others to benefit, even when we’re no longer on planet earth ?

9. Set a governance structure

Ahh ! This is the discipline part – to ensure consistency, good habits. That’s why we have “sales tracking” setiap minggu. Apart from bringing out the “OOOHs” the WOWs” and admiration and beri semangat to others, it creates a boundary – a habit of being better and better. Walaupun we may not be better than others, we have to be better than diri kita semalam. So everyday we do one thing well, and maintain ‘em. Imagine what happens after one year ?  WOW !

10. Change the being by doing

So you want BIG results ? Simple… Change the way you think. Change the way you do things. Fikirkan BIG, BOLD moves and take action. Usah termenung sokmo, its time for action. Get up and “just do it”!

So you have set target of RM1 million income this year ?

Maybe, you have promised RM35,000 sale per day ?

Or perhaps you promised to weigh not more than 50kg ?

Or agaknya dah plan and congak-congak cam mane nak beli than 5 series beemer ?

Handing over keys to success Stock Photo - 4325377

Do you have your action plan yet ?

GOOD ! Just do it !

There’s always two sides to a story. But in the case of stock market (equity, saham, shares) there’s maybe more than two !

Year-to-date the FBM KLCI naik 246.13 mata (+19.34%) ke 1518.91 pada 30 Disember 2010; touching a record high of 1531.99 in November 2010. Hebat ! If those yang “in the market” during March 2009 bottom of 838.39 points until sekarang – that’s +81.2% !!! Awesome huh ?

In analisa pasaran saham, the following methods are used :

1. Fundamental analysis – forecast based on fakta-fakta ekonomi such as growth (GDP), interest rates & inflation, pasaran-pasaran berkaitan (commodity, foreign exchange, bond/sukuk dsb).

2. Technical analysis – forecast based on charta-charta pasaran pelbagai pasaran sahan (klci, klsi, dow joines, hang seng dsb) dan menggunakan statistic & formula mathematic. “Picture speaks a thousand words” or “A picture speaks louder than words”.

3. Teknik-teknik lain (less conventional) – astrology, feng shui, numerology dsb.

Kekadang jenguk juga teknik ketiga – just for fun !

What’s to happen in 2011 ? Fundamental analyst prediction (extracted from The EDGE – Financial Daily 3 January 2011) generally as follows :

  • a bullish uptrend in 1H’2011 followed by volatile 2H’2011
  • upside targets for KLCI : 1620 > 1650 > 1710 > 1870   (wow !!! tingginye)
  • factors support uptrend : liquidity driven rally (some from QE2 -US), low interest rates globally, implementation of ETP (Malaysia), Strength of Ringgit Malaysia, strength of commodity (oil, rubber, kelapa sawit – Malaysia)
  • factors of risk : Inflation on the rise (cost of biz increase) from rising commodity prices, pace of economic recovery in US, sovereign debt (hutang kerajaan) issue in Euro zone & China’s rising of cost (interest rates, asset & property etc).

Here, saya attached “technical analysis” charts yang simple to “feel” direction of the market in 2011. If you want to view – download here

Happy twenty-eleven ya all !

Coach K.Rajagopal said “faith, patience and a concerted effort make it happen”. In this case patience is 14 years ! Nasib baik, in Unit Trust business, no need to wait that long. The right strategy, the right team and of course the right unit trust company “will make it happen” much, much sooner.

Still trying to figure out what to do, what goals to make and still wondering how your twenty-eleven is gonna look like ? Wonder no more, let me enlighten you, as I have been when I heard Jeevan on BFM 31-12-2010

5 Resolutions for 2011

Goals are “hopes” to do or you wish you have.

Resolutions are what you “want” to do. Not just hopeful or wishful thinking.

Resolution No.1 Surround yourself with BEST PEOPLE

How ? “You can’t choose your family but you can choose your friends”

The difference between you, 5 years later vis-à-vis you, now are “the people you meet and the books you read”. Surround yourself with great peeps – good friends & positive peeps (Toastmaster). Focus on great friends, and not focus on avoiding lousy friends.

Off course, read more & better books.

Resolution No.2 Resolve to use TIME EFFECTIVELY

How ? Divide your daily working or business time into 3 sections – pagi, tengahari & petang.  An average executive (yang bekerja) has 2000 hours in a year (excluding overtime) or in 52 weeks. Plan your day before you start your day, plan the week before the week begins, plan the month before the month starts and off course plan your year before it starts. Have you ? Did you block cuti sekolah, public holidays and importants dates in your 2011 calender yet ? So go get organised.

Then decide “what you want to achieve in each section of the day. And the malam is time for yourself – reading, hobbies, family etc.

Don’t major in minor stuffs, rather “major in major things and minor in minor stuffs”

Resolution No. 3 Resolve to ACHIEVE your GOALS

After writing your goals down, then resolve to achieve them. How ? Not easy but its simple !

The 3 steps – write down goals, make plans to achieve them, work on the plans everyday. Remember to add the “right attitude” ie. Utilize every resources (money, capital, skill, network) you have. Read the rest of this entry »
